GCLB is not currently required to play GridClimb. GridClimb remains free to play during public beta.
A token-gated access mode is planned, but it is not currently active. If it is ever enabled, wallet ownership would be verified by signing a plain authentication message — never a token transfer, never a spending approval. GridClimb never asks for seed phrases, recovery phrases, private keys or wallet passwords.
